Earlier today, we reported that US pop star and former X Factor USA judge Demi Lovato is featuring on British band The Vamps’ new single ‘Somebody To You’, which will have its first play on UK radio station Capital FM later tonight.
Since then, it’s also been revealed that another British music biz VIP, Ed Sheeran, is set to work with the American singer-songwriter on new music.
So it would seem that ‘Heart Attack’ songstress Demi has a fondness for collaborating with our homegrown stars, given that she’s also been busy in the studio with former X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd. Therefore, her intended collaboration with Lego House singer Ed will land her a UK recording artist hat-trick!
The prospect of a collaboration with Ed came about last month when Demi revealed that her list of people she’d love to work with included him, and he was quick to respond.
Now it seems their plan has gone a step further, which Ed revealed during an interview with Hollywire TV in which he stated that he and Demi will get together next month to figure things out.
He said: “Yeah, yeah. We’ve been emailing each other. That’s a good step forward. We’ll be seeing each other at the end of the month.”
Meanwhile, Ed – who is set to release his second album ‘x’ (though it’s pronounced Multiply) on the 23rd of June – is reportedly going to perform a “special” show in New York.
The ‘Sing’ performer explained to fans that on the 13th of June, he will be in New York for ‘Multiply’ day, and will perform a series of shows that grow in capacity – in terms of audience numbers – throughout the day.
The day will culminate with a major performance on Ellis Island, where he will have watched the crowd ‘Multiply’ from venue to venue. Nice little marketing ploy there isn’t it?
Sheeran has recently spoken with Fresh 102.7 about the day, and he proclaimed that he was excited to perform at Ellis Island as it’s somewhere he’s never performed before.
Here’s a look at Ed in action:
