We were shocked and saddened by the news tonight that Elisabeth Sladen had passed away.

The 63 year old actress is of course best known as Doctor Who character Sarah Jane Smith, as she played the role on numerous times over the last four decades.

Her last appearance on Doctor Who was on David Tennant’s final episode in 2010, titled ‘End Of Time. For more details on her comebacks over the years click here.

Elisabeth also fronted the DW spinoff series ‘The Sarah Jane Advetures’ for CBBC. She starred in four series of the children’s TV show and the first half of the fifth has been filmed and was due to air later in 2011.
