The PA today report that model and actress Elizabeth Hurley has landed a role on hit US show, Gossip Girl.

Hurley will play the role Diana Payne, who’s described as “a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with”, who will appear in the upcoming fifth season.

The show’s executive producers, Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran, told TVLine, “Elizabeth’s sense of humour, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly.

“We feel very fortunate to have her.”

Liz had previously been set to star as villainess Veronica Cale in a Wonder Woman remake, but US network NBC decided not to pick up the show.
