Emmerdale: Andy Sugden gets steamy with Amy’s mum, Kerry!
Farm worker Andy Sugden has been experiencing something of a drought on the female company front ever since he ended his relationship with Alicia Gallagher (Natalie Anderson) when he fell in love all over again with Debbie Dingle.
Fans will of course know that Debbie (Charley Webb) and Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) slept together in order to conceive a saviour sibling for their sick daughter, Sarah. But while it was just all about saving Sarah for Debbie, Andy couldn’t help but fall for Debbie again.
Ever since, Andy has been living like a monk, but that’s all about to change when he takes pity of Amy Wyatt’s mum Kerry (Laura Norton) when Amy (Chelsea Halfpenny) throws her out of the house after a blazing row…
Offering Kerry a place to stay, he’s later surprised that he finds it very easy to talk to her, and as the pair talk about the car crashes that are their love lives – and as the vino flows, mostly down their throats – things take a turn for the passionate.
While speaking to the Daily Star about the plotline, Kelvin said, “Andy sees Kerry as a bit of a handful but also sees a bit of himself in her – the black sheep of the village.
“He knows how desperate she is to put things right. He also has a daughter so he knows what it is like.
“Andy feels it is only right she is given a second chance and tries to help out because he’s a decent guy.,,
“There’s physical attraction – lust – straight away. After she cooks him a meal, Andy is flattered and does what he does best and leads her to the bedroom.”
We’ll see that drama play out on September 5 at 7pm on ITV1.
