The New Year will bring mixed fortunes for our Emmerdale friends, with romance blossoming for some, while for others, 2013 begins with heartache…
And for Cameron Murray, when a relative of his latest murder victim arrives in the village wanting answers about the missing resident’s whereabouts, Cameron (Dominic Power) may well be left facing the prospect of killing yet again!
However, for Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) by the time the New Year rolls around, they will have decided that regardless of what the rest of the villagers – or their families for that matter – say or think, they’re going to go public with their romance, and to hell with the consequences.
For them, things take turn for the passionate on New Year’s Eve when, after Cameron nicks Dom’s (Wil Johnson) motorbike – he has of course arranged to pick Moira up for a date – and unwitting Moira just hops on the back, assuming the driver is Dom…
But when Cain pulls over, she of course finds out he duped her, but unable to resist the spark between them, the pair find an empty barn and do what Cain and Moira do best, and it’s not knitting!
Later, Cain tells Moira that he’s sick of hiding what’s going on between them, and surprising even herself, Moira agrees. So when they return to the village, they decide the best way of spreading the news is to kiss in the Woolpack, and sure enough, within moments, everyone knows that they’re an item.
But of course, Moira’s son Adam (Ryan Thomas) isn’t overjoyed at the news, but as Moira tells him it’s Cain she wants to be with, and invites Cain to stay the night at the farm, Adam realizes there’s nothing he can do about it.
However, knowing Cain’s track record, his dad Zak (Steve Halliwell) implores him to treat Moira well, telling him that for once, Cain could be really happy, as long as he doesn’t muck it.
Meanwhile, Cameron is running out of things to tell his victim’s relative, so in a desperate attempt to throw them off the scent, he makes up lie after lie to discredit his victim – who is of course in a shallow grave in the woods – but will it work?
Find out in the first week of January, but we will of course keep you posted! For now, here’s ITV’s Christmas trailer…
