Emmerdale: Debbie Dingle and Dan Spencer visit Chas in prison to demand answers… I’d like to know who took THAT picture of Chas and Cam!

by Lynn Connolly

In upcoming episodes of Emmerdale, imprisoned Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is going to be getting a couple of visitors that she might have preferred not to see…

Those visitors will be Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and Chas’s new husband Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) who, though they visit on separate occasions, both want the same thing; answers to their questions about what Chas has done.

Chas is of course being held on remand awaiting trial for the murder of Carl King, even though we viewers know that in actuality, it was Chas’s lover Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) who wielded the fatal blow…

And despite Cameron’s vow to stand by Chas and do whatever it takes to get her freed, he evidently has no intention of confessing, or he’d have done so by now!

However, back to Debbie’s visit, which we’ll see on Thursday, November 15 at 7pm on ITV1, the troubled young mum wants to know why her aunt Chas betrayed her by having an affair with her boyfriend Cameron.

And deciding that the time for lies is well past, Chas braces herself to tell the Debbie the truth – that she’s in love with Cameron and has been for months.

Of course, it’s not what Debbie wants to hear, because despite everything he’s put her through, she still loves Cameron, but as the conversation with Chas goes on, Debbie realizes that Cameron and Chas are genuinely in love…

She of course hates that they are, but she realizes there’s nothing she can do about it. And with the added horrible stress over her daughter Sarah’s impending bone marrow transplant weighing on her mind, will hearing that there’s no way back for her and Cam push Debbie over the edge?

Well, we’ll have to wait and see, but as mentioned, Chas also has to deal with seeing Dan, who – as we’ll see in this week’s episodes – has begun a relationship with factory co-worker Lizzie (Kitty McGeever).

However, in order to get some closure on his failed marriage to Chas, Dan wants to know why Chas killed Carl – he of course has no idea about the truth of the circumstances of Carl’s death – but he ends up moved to the point of heartbreak as Chas sobs that she thought Carl was going to rape her.

She ends up telling Dan the whole story, beginning with the fact that Carl was blackmailing her and Cameron, and confessing everything, including the fact that she’s still in love with Cameron.

And despite everything she’s said, at the end of the visit, Dan tells Chas that he still loves her and always will, and adds that he’ll always be there for her if she needs him…

We’ll see those emotional scenes next week.

But just as a by the by, I don’t know if you’ve ever wondered about this, but you know the picture that Chas had on her phone of herself and Cameron in bed together? The one that Carl was holding to blackmail her with?

Well, who the hell took the picture? It doesn’t look like either Chas or Cameron were holding up a phone to do a self-portrait…

A small point but it kinda niggles me!

Anywho, here’s a reminder of the episode when that cat escaped its bag…

Lucy Pargeter has said on quite a few occasions that she (Chas) took the picture.
