Emmerdale: First look at newbie Jamie Shelton, and Steve Halliwell’s scary stunt!

As we reported a few weeks ago, newcomer Jamie Shelton has joined the cast of Emmerdale as Megan Macey’s son…

He’s playing the role of Robbie, who Megan’s brother Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) tracks down with the help of a private investigator. We have of course heard in recent episodes that Megan had a son who she gave up for adoption when he was a baby.

However, it seems Robbie has grown up with some issues, and when he turns up at Home Farm, Megan (Gaynor Faye) is shocked to the core, and it seems Robbie’s more than willing to use that to his advantage.

Of joining the cast, Jamie told the show’s website, “I’m really excited to be joining Emmerdale. Robbie is going to be a great character to play…”

And series producer Stuart Blackburn added, “I’m delighted to welcome Jamie to the cast. Robbie will certainly stir things up at Home Farm.

“He is a tough nut to crack and it will be a while before we get past the ‘front’ Robbie is well-used to putting on.”

We’ll meet Robbie in May, which is also when we’ll see poor Zak Dingle losing the plot in a rather spectacular manner…

And today, Inside Soap reports that Steve Halliwell, who of course plays Zak, had a few hairy moments while he was filming scenes in which Zak suffers a mental breakdown.

He explained, “Zak drives out into the wild countryside, but he gets confused.

“He gets progressively worse and thinks Cain is looking for him, trying to kill him.

“It gets very tense up high on the rocks.

“While we were filming, I had to wear a safety harness – because it was so windy, we nearly got blown away!”

And of the conclusion to the storyline, Zak said, “There’s plenty more to come…

“After what Zak did to Cain he just can’t live with himself.”
