Emmerdale: Gaynor Faye wants her character Megan Macey to stay mean, not mumsy!
In forthcoming episodes of Emmerdale, we’re about to meet Megan Macey’s son Robbie, who Megan gave up for adoption when he was a baby.
And despite the fact that Megan told her brother Declan (Jason Merrells) that she has no interest in finding her son, he went ahead and hired a private investigator to do just that.
As we’ll see next week, Declan’s PI does in fact find Robbie – who’s played by Jamie Shelton – and Megan will come face to face with her son soon…
However, Gaynor Faye, who of course plays ruthless Megan, has revealed that she hopes her character will remain “nasty” despite her new found motherhood.
Speaking to the PA, Gaynor – whose mother if screenwriter Kay Mellor – said, “This is why she is the way she is – because she’s had this skeleton in her closet.
“Now we meet him and all of a sudden you understand a bit more about her. It makes her a bit more three-dimensional.
“[But] I want her to keep on her nasty path. I don’t want her to go all mumsy and cosy.
“I don’t think she will. There’s evil in her yet.”
Emmerdale’s executive producer, Stuart Blackburn, recently said taht Robbie’s arrival in the village will “test the loyalties of everyone around him” and create “struggles for power” at Home Farm.
It’s also been rumoured that Robbie will attempt to seduce Katie Sugden (Sammie Winward) who is of course dating his uncle Declan.
Eek!
