In upcoming episodes of Emmerdale, factory PA Gennie Walker (Sian Reese-Williams) is horrified to discover that she’s pregnant…

She makes the discovery after confiding in her half-sister Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) that she suspects she might be pregnant, but is too scared to find out. So, Chas takes over and rushes off to buy a few pregnancy testing kits, all of which give a positive result.

Chas tries to calm Gennie down, telling her that Nikhil (Rik Makarem) is sure to be chuffed when she tells him, but Gennie reveals that they’ve talked about having children before, and he made it quite clear he doesn’t want any.

An Emmerdale insider told the Daily Star, “Gennie can’t believe it when test after test comes back positive.

“As she takes each one she hopes and prays that it’s all a mistake…

“She’s terrified of Nikhil’s reaction. He’s made it clear that the last thing he wants in his life is a baby.

“Her head’s all over the place and she gets into quite a state.

“Chas tells her that it’s her choice, she can do whatever she wants but it doesn’t help. All she can think of is Nikhil’s reaction.

“Although they love each other, they’ve got different plans for the future. Nikhil’s do not involve having kids.

“It’s going to be an interesting time for all concerned.”

We’ll see Gennie finding out she’s pregnant a week on Wednesday, and as well as Nikhil’s reaction to the news, it’ll be interesting to see if Charity (Emma Atkins) decides she’ll have another baby too, assuming Gennie’s news makes her broody!

Her husband Jai (Chris Bisson) has of course been trying to talk her into having their baby for a couple of weeks now.
