Emmerdale residents are to get a shock when a drunken Grayson attacks Katie after a night in a police cell.

Grayson is released from the cell, but still drunk forces his way into Katie’s cottage and attacks her when she fails to tell him where Perdy is.

Paul hears Katie’s screams and rushes to her rescue.

“Gray has hit rock bottom,” actor Christopher Villiers tells the Sun. “The locals are stunned by his violence and to learn the truth about his sexuality.” The trouble starts when Gray wakes up in the police station after spending the night drinking and picking up men in a park.

After his release, Gray makes his way to Katie’s house.

“Katie makes a run for it, but Gray drags her back towards the house,” explains Christopher. “Paul steps in to save her.”

Gray then decides to leave the village for good.

“He signs his share of the business over to Paddy and leaves,” says Christopher. “But he threatens to come back to sort out Katie, once he has found his son.”
