Emmerdale Highlights: Thursday 11th September

Lisa impressed Pollard with the amount of curtains she’d managed to knock out but of course, they were in fact ‘borrowed’ from the Robblesfield Manor. Everyone was still working flat out in an attempt to produce the most goods – in order to have a chance at winning the supervisor’s job – and tempers were getting frayed.

Gennie had been giving all her made-up curtains to Lexi to boost her quota but when Pollard checked them over, he angrily told Lexi to do them all again as the quality was so poor. Lexi realised that Gennie had made the shoddy curtains on purpose and confronted her, which prompted Gennie to tell Pollard and the other girls that Lexi had forced her do it. Pollard then carted Lexi into the office for what everyone assumed was a severe telling off, but to the girls’ horror, he emerged soon after to announce that Lexi was the new supervisor.

Elsewhere in the village, Chas saw Brenda moving into Bob’s flat and her snide remarks caused Brenda to defend herself against the unspoken but obvious implication that there was something going on between her and Bob.

Bob meanwhile was confronted with painful memories of better times as he packed up his and Viv’s belongings for the move. He began to have doubts that he was doing the right thing but Jamie assured him that it was the best thing to do under the circumstances. Still unsure, Bob moved in with Jamie and Terry who had a surprise in store for him; they’ve paid for him to go and visit his daughter Roxy. This cheered him no end and the three cracked open a few beers to celebrate.

In hospital, Donna had physiotherapy but found it very hard to try to walk and collapsed. She wanted to try again but the physiotherapist warned her she had to take things a step at a time. Ironic choice of wording eh? When Marlon visited her later on, she took her frustrations out on him and accused him of making stupid remarks that belittled her problems.

Over at Home Farm, Katie angrily confronted Matthew about his showing Anna round the stables and Matthew told her that he only did that to force her to fight for her business. Nonetheless, she was still fuming but was later much happier when Matthew helped her to win a new contract to stable four horses. He caused her more concern later though when he confided in her that he’s risked the entire King & Sons business on one deal which, if it goes wrong, means he’ll lose everything. Chas later cautioned Katie not to get too close to Matthew but Katie confidently assured her that she could handle him.

Meanwhile at Butler’s farm, Andy was worried when he received a bill from the feed suppliers but reacted angrily when Jo offered to do some more shifts at the pub to help with money. He told her she was needed at the farm and wouldn’t let her ask Diane for more work. Later though, Jo went to the pub and asked Diane for an advance on her wages which Andy gratefully took from her to pay the bill.
