Emmerdale: I was right! Rachel Breckle IS pregnant with Jai Sharma’s baby!

It would appear I have actual magical and/or psychic powers, because only days ago, I wondered whether Emmerdale character Rachel Breckle would become pregnant with Jai Sharma’s baby after their recent one night stand…

And lo, I was right for a Sharma baby is indeed on the way, as a horrified Rachel (Gemma Oaten) will discover in forthcoming episodes of the show.

However, I can’t really claim to be psychic as it’s par for the soapy course that pregnancies happen after one night stands between unlikely characters, but I’ll be fascinated to see if – as I also predicted – Rachel and Jai (Chris Bisson) end up being the “unlikely couple” who get wed in October as part of the show’s anniversary storylines!

But getting back to the plotline at hand, and in an episode that airs a week tomorrow, we’ll see a frantic Rachel confiding in her sister Ali Spencer (Kelli Hollis) that she thinks she could well be duffed up, and sage Ali advises that before she goes into meltdown, she should take a pregnancy test…

However, it’s no surprise to Rachel when the test is positive, but she refuses to tell Ali who the dad is, telling her the pregnancy was the result of a stupid drunken mistake…

But what’s Jai going to say? He is of course desperate for a baby of his own, but his wife Charity (Emma Atkins) has told him she doesn’t want any more kids.

So, place your bets please – will Jai ditch Charity in order to help Rachel bring up their baby?

Or will Rachel decide she can’t trash Jai’s family and will decide to either not keep the baby or lie about who’s the daddy?

Well, an Emmerdale insider wasn’t giving that away, but did tell the Daily Star, “Rachel gets really worked up about the possibility that she could be pregnant. Once the test confirms her fears she’s distraught.

“Sleeping with Jai was a huge mistake. They just got drunk and turned to each other for comfort.”

As mentioned, don’t miss this drama a week tomorrow, and in the meantime, let me know if you think Jai and Rachel could end up playing mummies and daddies together!
