In upcoming episodes of Emmerdale, factory boss Jai Sharma is damn near shooting up his own jacksy in his attempts to keep the news that he is the father of Rachel Breckle’s baby a secret…

But when Rachel (Gemma Oaten) tells him the date and time of her first ultrasound scan, he’s determined to be there to get the first glimpse of his bubby, however, he didn’t make any contingency plans for what to do if he bumped into someone he knew at the hospital.

And unluckily for him, exactly that happens when he runs smack dab into his brother Nikhil!

As we’ll see in the episode which airs a week tomorrow, Nikhil (Rik Makarem) has raced to get his pregnant fiancé Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) to hospital after she suspected she was going into labour prematurely…

And it’s in a corridor of the hospital that Jai (Chris Bisson) has to think on his feet – while poor Rachel’s nervously waiting for him – and tell Nikhil that he’s there to see how Gennie’s doing!

Of the plot twist, an insider told the Daily Star, “Jai really wants to be a part of his baby’s life.

“Charity made it clear to him she didn’t want any more children so this is his only chance at fatherhood.

“It may not be the best situation, but he wants to be there for Rachel’s scan.

“Nikhil and Gennie turning up at the same time complicates things, and it looks like he may well miss out on seeing his baby for the first time.”

However, rumour has it that Jai’s secret may be out soon, despite all his efforts to keep that cat firmly in its bag! We will of course keep you posted.
