Jeff Hordely has admitted that he always knew he would return to Emmerdale one day.

Jeff plays Cain Dingle on the ITV1 soap and left the show two and a half years ago.

Jeff told MSN: “I knew that one day, I seriously did in my bones, I knew that there would be a day when I would be back. I just didn’t know when that would be.”

He continued: “When I left, I left that door open, and I left that door open for a reason.

“It’s kind of strange but really comforting, because obviously I know I’ve got lots of friends here and all the crew I know really well and everyone behind the scenes.

“Everyone’s been absolutely lovely welcoming me back. On the whole, it’s b****y good to be back.”
