Pretty Jo Sugden finally takes a stand this week after Andy tries to force her to have his baby.

Jo has withstood months of physical and mental abuse at the hands of Andy, but when is is about to launch into yet another attack this week over the issue of children, Jo sees his daughter Sarah watching on decides that enough is wnough.

Roxanne Pallett who plays Jo, told The Daily Star: “Jo didn’t have the most stable upbringing and doesn’t want Sarah to go through what she went through.

“So she’s standing up to Andy – not just for herself, but for Sarah as well. She tells him: ‘I want you to get out,’ but afterwards she’s nearly physically sick – she’s that scared.”

As Andy realises that he has lost his grip on Jo his life goes on a downward spiral and results in a suicide attempt in a few weeks time.

A show insider said: “Like most bullies, when you take away their control they quickly show they’re not as powerful as they made out.

“Jo starts to get back to her old self and rebuilds her confidence.

“One day she’ll be the flirty little minx she once was.”
