For once, a soap storyline we didn’t read about weeks in advance! Last night saw Emmerdale’s Lexi and Carl come head to head on top of a hospital roof top. In their huge row Carl admitted to never loving Lexi and told her that he was with Chaz on their wedding day. The argument ended with Lexi leaving the soap and while her last scenes were filmed five week ago, ITV managed to keep the news under wraps until now.

Sally Oliver who plays Lexi said: “I have loved every minute of playing Lexi but just felt the time was right for her to move on.”

“It was very emotional filming my last scenes due to the nature of the storyline, but also because I knew that I was leaving,” Oliver said.

“I am going to miss everyone loads but particularly my on-screen family and especially Tom [Lister, who plays Carl].”
