Emmerdale: “Major character” to be murdered during 40th anniversary! Plus double wedding spoilers!

Emmerdale’s official website has teased yet more storylines for the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations in October, and they include the revelation that a “major and well loved character” is set to be murdered during the special week of episodes.

As to who the murder victim will be, that is of course being kept firmly under wraps, but a show source told TV Biz, “It’s a closely guarded secret. Very few people know who the victim is.”

The week of special episodes, which air in October, will of course also feature the much talked about live broadcast, and of that, the paper adds, “The hour-long live episode promises to present viewers with every aspect of human life – births, weddings and an untimely death.”

Of the big week of shows, Emmerdale’s producer, Stuart Blackburn, said, “In our spectacular live episode viewers will be taken on a whirlwind journey encompassing every life experience…

“From the two cradles to the grave, with love, hate and betrayal along the way.

“We want to avoid speculation as to which character dies but suffice to say it will have major, far-reaching repercussions.”

As to the weddings that will take place in the special week, we’ll see Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) tying the knot, as well as Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) and Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward).

And of course, the births are expected to be Debbie Dingle’s (Charley Webb) baby, and Gennie Walker’s (Sian Reese Williams).

Soooooo excited! Are you?
