Emmerdale’s Matthew King is going to be eating his Christmas dinner in the local jail this year, after being arrested for his stepmother, Rosemary’s, murder.

Rosemary fled Emmerdale village a few months ago after a massive argument with her son Gray and his wife. However after the police find her car abandoned close to the King’s property, the coppers turn their attention to Matthew, and suspect him of murdering the battleaxe.

Actor Matt Healy, 38, who plays King, revealed: “Matthew knows he’s done nothing wrong, so when the police turn up, it’s clear that someone is out to get him.

“That’s when he worries that he’s going to be sent down for a crime he hasn’t committed.
“Matthew hates not being in control, so the worst thing for him is that there is absolutely nothing he can do about it.”
