In last night’s episodes of Emmerdale – which saw pregnant mum Debbie Dingle rushed to hospital after she was injured during a fight between her dad Cain and boyfriend Cameron – eagle eyed viewers spotted a rather giant discrepancy in Debbie’s house, which was that her staircase had moved!

Taking to Twitter, many viewers wanted to know why Debbie’s (Charley Webb) house had undergone the change, and Gemma Oaten, who plays Rachel Breckle, assured fans that she’d try to get to the bottom of the mystery…

Soon after, she tweeted, “I’ve tried to find out for you… and yes, the stairs have been moved in Debbie’s house #emmerdale due to tweaks being needed as filming in that little studio was a nightmare for cameras etc.”

Gemma added, “A lot of sets have needed tweaking since the move to new studio…

“Hope that helps! So there we have it #debbiesstairgate is hopefully resolved. Hurrah!

“If I’m wrong I apologise, but I tried for you.”

However, ITV confirmed that Gemma’s theory over the shifting staircase was correct when they posted on the show’s official Twitter page, “For all our eagle eyed viewers, there has been some changes to the Tug Ghyll set, this is for production reasons.”
