ITV have just updated Emmerdale’s official website with a host of new pictures and a video clip that show what could be poor John Barton’s last moments alive as he and newly reconciled wife Moira are in an horrific crash…
You can click here to see the preview video, and here to see lots more pictures, but in the meantime, Natalie J Robb, who of course plays Moira, has told the Daily Record that she sustained injuries while filming the crash scenes.
Natalie explained that for the episode, which airs on February 16th in an hour long special, she and James Thornton – who plays John Barton – were replaced by stunt doubles for some of the major scenes, but of those they filmed themselves, she said, “It went too slow for me! I wanted it to go faster…
“I love the waltzer. James wasn’t so keen on it though…”
Natalie then added, “When you let the harness go it starts to crush you a little bit and felt claustrophobic.
“After the first night [of filming] I had bruises on my rib cage, so they added padding.
“It was spooky to shoot because it was on the moors, dark and the weather was terrible. It gave a really uneasy sense of reality to the whole thing.”
However, as one character departs – John – another enters the village in the form of Gaynor Faye as Declan Macey’s (Jason Merrells) sister, Megan.
The show’s website says of her, “She’s ambitious, smart and takes no prisoners. Can the village handle Declan’s half-sister Megan?”
Megan turns up at Home Farm following a call from Declan, asking her to be involved in his music festival project, but initially, Megan’s unsure whether to take him up on his offer, but he gives her just 24 hours to make up her mind.
Will she, won’t she? Tune in next week to find out!
