Emmerdale newbie Fiona Wade says Priya Sharma may regret falling for Cain Dingle!

Fiona Wade, who plays Priya Sharma in Emmerdale, has revealed that her character is set to fall for bad lad Cain Dingle, but – like his many other women have – she may live to regret it.

As viewers will know, Cain (Jeff Hordley) made a beeline for Priya as soon as she arrived in the village, which made Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) jealous when he actively flirted with Priya right under her nose.

Speaking to Soaplife about Priya and Cain, Fiona said, “[Cain] caught her attention straight away.

“They have good chemistry and she can sense he’s a bad boy rebel – it attracts her.

“She’s not aware he’s seeing her to get at Jai…

“She’s intrigued by Cain but I don’t think she realises just how dark he is. For the moment, Priya’s having fun.”

But Fiona added that she can’t see it all ending any way but badly, given Cain’s track record with women…

However, Fiona has enjoyed working so closely with Jeff, who’s married to co-star Zoe Henry, who of course plays vet Rhona Goskirk.

Fiona said, “It’s so much fun and Jeff is wonderful. He made me feel at ease immediately.

“I couldn’t wish to work with nicer people and I’m loving being Emmerdale’s newest addition.”

In a separate interview with the PA, Priya also revealed that she loves her extended soapy family because, as an only child, she’s never enjoyed the support of siblings, which Priya has in Jai (Chris Bisson) and Nikhil (Rik Makarem).

She said, “I don’t have an siblings in real life as I’m an only child – but I’ve always felt like I’m from quite a large family as I’ve got loads of cousins.

“I love having two brothers in Emmerdale. Chris and Rik are both so great, and it’s just as much fun off set as it is on.

“We’ve got a really good banter going on between us all.”

Fiona’s stint on Emmerdale follows her other TV roles, including playing Joanna Day in Grange Hill, and Julianna McKenzie in Holby City.

She’s also starred in Doctors as Decca, in Waterloo Road as Sameen Azzizi, and was a regular character on Where the Heart Is in the role of Rowan Clayton.
