In an upcoming episode of Emmerdale, Nikhil Sharma will be horrified when he spots his sister Priya kissing married shopkeeper Davie Metcalfe.

But of course, what he doesn’t realise is that David’s marriage to Alicia Gallagher (Natalie Anderson) was a marriage of convenience – for him at any rate – and only in order for David (Matthew Wolfenden) to keep Alicia’s son Jacob in the village while his mum’s in prison.

David confessed to Priya (Fiona Wade) that his marriage was a sham during a recent chat in the pub, and the pair have been getting closer of late.

However, back to Nikhil (Rik Makarem) and how he reacts when he spots Priya and David kissing, he’ll tell David that he “disgusts” him and tells his sister that he’s ashamed of her…

A show insider told the Daily Star, “David really likes Priya but as far as everyone is concerned he’s married to Alicia.

“He had to convince the entire village that they were in love so he could fulfil his promise to help Alicia keep Jacob.

“He loves the lad and was more than happy to do it but now Nikhil knows the truth it’s not looking good.

“Nikhil storms off and David realises he’s going to have to speak to him again about it all. But he’s going to take some convincing.

“As far as Nikhil is concerned, David is a cheat and his sister needs to stay away from him.”
