Always topical, ITV soap Emmerdale is to get it’s first illegal immigrant.

Next month a young Ukrainian woman, Olena, will stow away on one of the Kings haulage trucks coming from France. Olena is discovered and helped by young Belle Dingle and Will Wylde.

A soap insider told The Sun “Olena’s story about why she’s run away will be revealed in the next few months.

“She’s very grateful that the children are so kind to her but she’s obviously scared and begs them not to tell anyone about her.

“That’s what they try to do. Later some of the Dingles find out that she’s an illegal immigrant – but other people who end up meeting her don’t realise who she is.

“Her identity remains hidden until the new year.”
