Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later; that is, Emmerdale’s Chas Dingle and Cameron Murray being caught in a compromising position…

But luckily for them, when their affair is discovered, it’s by Chas’s half-sister Gennie, and not her niece – and Cameron’s girlfriend – Debbie!

But it’s a close call…

The drama of the discovery begins when pregnant Gennie (Sian Reese Williams) walks in on Chas and Cameron sharing a passionate kiss. She is of course both speechless and horrified as the illicit lovers plead with her to keep their affair a secret.

However, it could have been a whole lot worse for the pair, because even as they’re beseeching Gennie to keep mum, Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) walks in, and of course, can immediately sense that something’s wrong.

But some quick thinking on Chas’s part throws her off the unpleasant scent. However, Debbie’s dad Cain (Jeff Hordley) is already suspicious about Cameron (Dominic Power) and thinks he’s playing away.

And of course he is, but Cain has no clue that it’s Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that he’s having an affair with. And in fact, so in the dark is he that he asks Chas to spy on Cameron for him!

Of the dramatic scenes, which we’ll see a week on Friday, a show insider told the Star, “Gennie can’t believe it. Catching Chas at it with Cameron is the last thing she needed.

“Chas can’t believe she’s been so careless.”

Well I can’t say I’m entirely unsympathetic to Chas’ plight, and while of course it’s wrong on so many levels that she’s bonking Cameron, frankly, who wouldn’t?
