Rik Makarem, who plays dishy factory boss Nikhil Sharma, has revealed that when his character’s parents and sister arrive in the village, there’s going to be trouble.

As fans of the show may know, former The Bill actress Trudie Goodwin will play Nikhil’s mother Georgia, while Bhasker Patel will play the role of his dad, Rishi.

Fiona Wade will reprise her role as Nikhil’s younger sister Priya.

The family is set to arrive in the village as Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) prepares to marry his fiancé Charity Tate (Emma Atkins).

While appearing on This Morning yesterday, Rik told viewers, “They’ll definitely be ruffling some feathers, in particular Georgia.

“She’s a very strong character and she’s got a thing or two to say about Nikhil’s love life, and moreso Jai’s love life with Charity!”

And of working with veteran actress Trudie, Rik said, “She’s created a wonderful character, and after playing such an established character on The Bill, to come and create a new character with a different energy is really good.”

The Sharma family’s arrival is expected to air in October.
