Fans of Emmerdale will know that café owner Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) has been mooning about, lovestruck over Brenda Walker, however, in next week’s episodes, Bob’s dream of being Brenda’s significant other become reality when the pair share a night of passion…

However, as the week wears on, we’ll see the poor Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) begins to have trouble concentrating, and things come to a terrifying head when she nearly runs over Val Pollard (Charlie Hardwick) and endangering the life of her granddaughter Molly.

The drama begins on Tuesday, February 26th when, having spent the night at Bob’s, Brenda goes to visit Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) who’s pleased to hear that her mum’s happy, however, during a chat with Georgia (Trudie Goodwin) Brenda suddenly seems to go into a daydream…

When Gennie later angrily confronts her mum, Brenda devastated to be accused of being drunk around the baby, but refusing to accept that her mother hadn’t been drinking, Gennie storms off.

By the time we see Thursday’s episode, Gennie and Brenda have made up, and while Gennie puts her mother’s carelessness down to symptoms of the menopause, Brenda fears that there’s something much worse wrong with her…

However, trying to take her mind off things, Brenda offers to take Molly swimming, but just as she sets off – with the baby strapped in the back – again Brenda’s mind wanders, and the car swerves, right into the path of pedestrian Val!

Luckily, nobody’s seriously hurt, but of course, Val’s fuming and Gennie’s terrified the baby could’ve been hurt, so she rushes her to A&E.

Meanwhile, a distraught Brenda’s being comforted by Bob when she suddenly become dizzy and collapses! Bob immediately orders someone to phone for an ambulance, but he’s further worried when Brenda calls out for Terry, who has of course been dead for a number of years.

At the casualty department, Gennie’s shocked to see her mum being wheeled in, and she feels guilty that she didn’t even stop to check if Brenda was okay.

But as we’ll see in the episode that airs on Friday, March 1st, Brenda’s not okay at all, and a neurosurgeon tells her that she has a lesion on her brain which could be malignant. He tells Brenda that they have to do a biopsy to find out for sure, which of course horrifies her and Gennie.

However, unable to accept that she could be seriously ill, Brenda warns Gennie not to tell anyone what the doctor said, and especially not Bob…

Find out next week whether Brenda consents to the biopsy, but for now, here’s a look at what’s coming up for Bob and Brenda this week…
