In the episode of Emmerdale that airs on Tuesday 4 February, James tries to persuade Moira to go to the meeting with Charlotte with him, but she once again points out that she doesn’t want any part of it.
Pete tries to persuade James to go it alone, but he’s later shocked when James lies to Charlotte, telling her that Moira is interested, and adding that she couldn’t make the meeting due to a prior appointment. He adds that she’s given him full authority to speak for both of them, which makes Pete worry that his dad’s deception might be uncovered.
Later, in the pub, James flirts with Charlotte while making sure Cain’s watching, and sure enough he is. What he sees makes Cain wonder if he got it wrong over James having feelings for Moira.
Elsewhere, Moira tells in Vanessa that she and James have “history”, but Vanessa tells her that she’d be mad to lose out on a good deal over it. So with Cain now seemingly no longer worried about her and James, and given that Moira’s secretly still interested in the deal, it seems James has played everyone exceptionally well.
Meanwhile, Charity’s determined to makes Sam to see sense, but first, she confronts Jai and accuses him of using Sam. Jai admits that’s true, adding that he just wants Archie back and to hell with everyone else, including Rachel.
Unbeknownst to Jai, Charity has recorded what he said and she later plays it to Sam, who’s devastated to hear Jai’s true intentions. But her actions backfire when Sam tells her that now, he needs to find Rachel more than ever, fearing what the consequences will be if Jai finds her first.
But with Samson upset at being uprooted, and the family’s constant pressure on Sam, will he finally give in and give up the search? And if he does, will he instead focus on getting revenge on Declan instead?
And finally, Sandy suspects that Sean is still keen on Belle, and Leyla’s worried when Priya avoids eating.
