Emmerdale star Charley Webb says Debbie Dingle will never love Andy Sugden

As fans of Emmerdale will know, Debbie Dingle and Andy Sugden have recently slept together to try to conceive a so-called ‘saviour sibling’ for their Fanconi Anaemia sufferer daughter, Sarah…

And after the couple met in a hotel for sex – which they did without the knowledge of their respective partners – Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) has developed feelings for Debbie, which aren’t reciprocated.

Charley Webb, who of course plays Debbie, has told All About Soap that for her character, the sex with Andy was only for the purpose of having another baby, and for Debbie, there wasn’t, and won’t be, any romance involved.

She said, “They had a childish relationship and she fell pregnant with Sarah, but she has moved on and is happy with Cameron.

“She wouldn’t want to mess up what she has with him…”

However, Charley – whose older brother is Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas, and whose younger brother Daniel originally played the role of Aaron Livesy – revealed that when Debbie announces she’s pregnant, things will get even more complicated.

She said, “Andy’s delighted and it makes his feelings for her even stronger.

“But the closer they’re getting, the more he’s reading into the situation.

“He’s thrilled for Sarah, but it also makes him hopeful there might be a future for him and Debbie.”

Debbie will announce the news that she’s pregnant in next week’s episodes, and you can see her real-life partner, Matthew Wolfenden – who of course plays David Metcalfe – competing in Dancing on Ice on Sunday.
