Emmerdale star Chelsea Halfpenny “excited” for the arrival of Amy Wyatt’s mum!
During an interview with All About Soap magazine, Emmerdale star Chelsea Halfpenny has revealed that she can’t wait to play the emotional scenes that are sure to ensue when her character, Amy Wyatt, meets up with her mum, Kerry.
As fans of the show will probably know, Laura Norton has been cast in the role of Amy’s mum, who abandoned Amy when she was younger and left her in care, which of course isn’t something Amy’s anywhere close to forgiving her for.
We’ll first meet Kerry in the episode that airs on Tuesday, July 17th when mum and daughter meet by accident as Amy’s on a night out, but determined to start up some kind of a relationship with her daughter, Kerry tracks Amy down and arrives in the village.
Of the emotive plotline, Amy said, “There are going to be so many bridges to cross, because so much has happened way back in the past…
“Kerry’s definitely going to have to change a lot if she wants a chance to work things out.
However, Chelsea went on to say that she’s looking forward to playing more facets of Amy’s persona as part of the storyline.
She said, “I’m looking forward to exploring her emotional side a bit more. She puts on this tough front, and the only time I’ve seen her vulnerable side was when she had the baby and she was talking to him.
“But I think there’s a lot more to her.”
