As fans of Emmerdale will of course know, Amy Wyatt gave birth to a baby boy on December 1st, alone and terrified in the village’s graveyard…
Since then, the whole truth about Amy’s pregnancy – and of course the revelation that Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is the baby’s father – has come out, but blessedly, she’s had the full support of foster parents Val and Eric Pollard, who are played by Charlie Hardwick and Chris Chittell respectively.
But, despite Val and Eric’s backing, and their pleas for her to keep the baby, Amy – who’s played by Chelsea Halfpenny – is still determined to give her little boy up for adoption.
However, as we get nearer to Christmas, perhaps the festive mood will rub off on Amy, and make her think twice about giving little Kyle up, especially once she gets to spend some time with him at home when he’s discharged from the hospital…
In a recent interview with Inside Soap about her current storylines, Chelsea revealed that if she were to offer Amy any advice, she’d tell her, “Just do what’s best for the child.”
Chelsea went on to say, “I don’t think the baby’s father, Cain, would ever want to share a youngster with Amy, so she would be a single mum.
“And it will be very interesting to see how he reacts to what she decides.”
And when asked about the babies who play the role of Kyle – who was named by the staff at the hospital he was taken to when he was first found abandoned – Chelsea said, “They’re so adorable! We’ve got a boy and a girl who take turns playing Kyle.
“They’re just so tiny and cute! I’ve really bonded with them.
“I’m quite good with children – I’ve got two young cousins who are three and four years old.
“I just sit and stare at them while talking in a silly baby voice.”
Are you hoping Amy keeps the baby? I am, and I suspect she’s going to, given that it’s been rumoured little Kyle will turn out to be a bone marrow match for his niece, Sarah Sugden!
Let’s take a look at Chelsea talking about the baby’s birth scenes…
