Emmerdale star Dominic Power says Cameron chooses Debbie and dumps Chas!

Emmerdale fans will of course know that Cameron Murray has been having an affair with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) who is of course Debbie Dingle’s aunt…

In last week’s episodes, we saw Cameron and Chas making plans to flee the village together, despite having previously agreed to wait and stick it out in the village, at least until Debbie (Charley Webb) has had her baby.

However, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has of course been suspicious that Cameron’s cheating on his daughter Debbie, and next week, the feuding men will come to blows, and poor Debbie will get caught up in the melee and be rushed to hospital when she’s injured as fists fly.

And it’s this that Dominic Power, who of course plays Cameron, says is “the wake up call” that his character has needed to realize that he still loves Debbie, and actually, he loves her more than he loves Chas…

Speaking to Soaplife about the dramatic turn of events, Dominic explained, “Cain’s convinced Cameron’s up to something and accuses him of it.

“Because Cameron’s got the conflict going on in his head, it’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back.”

Of Debbie being hurt and rushed to hospital, Dominic said, “Cameron’s devastated and suddenly the guilt over everything really kicks in. It’s a wake-up call for Cameron.

“Debbie’s the only person he’s thinking about.

“He doesn’t think about Chas, or that she’s waiting for him so they can run away together. He’s thinking: what if both Debbie and the baby die?

“If the baby dies, what about Sarah?

“There are three lives at stake here – all because of his actions.”

And even when it’s revealed that both Debbie and the baby are fine, Cameron doesn’t change his mind about realizing Debbie is the one he wants.

Dominic said, “He comforts Debbie and tells her he’ll never let anyone or anything hurt her again.

“The accident makes him feel like he’s been picked up and shaken vigorously.”

And finally, of how Cameron breaks the news that he’s staying with Debbie to Chas, Dominic said, “Cameron tells her he’s unsure about leaving Debbie and she tells him to get out. He feels awful because he does still care for Chas.

“He’s in a weird place where he feels like he’s in love with two women for two different reasons. Cameron says to Chas, ‘It’s just not that simple’. And it certainly isn’t.”

Tune in next week to see those dramatic episodes.
