Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter says “I can’t bear to watch myself in HD!”

Since Emmerdale began filming in HD, Lucy Pargeter reckons she’s become increasingly conscious of “every line and wrinkle”, and she added that she can’t bear to watch herself in the HD format.

Speaking to the Mirror about her appearance, her cosmetic surgery and playing the role of sexy landlady Chas Dingle, Lucy began by saying, “The arrival of high definition hasn’t helped…

“I can’t bear to watch myself in HD. You can see every line and wrinkle. That isn’t something any woman would enjoy.

“Like most actors I spend most of my time going through extreme emotions and all that drama plays havoc with your face.”

Lucy, who’s already had two boob jobs, liposuction and Botox, added, “It used to be a real taboo admitting you’d had things done but I never felt that…

“I’ve always been very open about what I’ve had and why I’ve done it.

“The way I see it, if I want to have my boobs done or have a bit of lipo, I will do. It’s no one else’s business really.

“My view is, if it gives you confidence and makes you feel good about yourself then it’s worth it.

“If I’m being honest I can’t imagine being fully satisfied with my body but that’s just me.”

However, in the aftermath of the worries about certain breast implants, Lucy is planning on getting hers checked out, but she added, “I am planning to have my right implant checked out. Something isn’t right.

“It isn’t to do with PIP implants. Thank goodness I didn’t have those.

“It’s probably just one of these things. But I do need to get it checked.

“As I see it, that’s part of the whole process, it’s about keeping everything in good order.”

Lucy then moved on to discussing Chas Dingle’s romance with Cameron Murray (Dominic Power), which of course necessitates kissing scenes.

Of that Lucy said, “There was a lot of hygiene going on and there are absolutely no tongues allowed, that’s definitely the rule.

“I don’t think many people would enjoy taking anything off in front of the nation, so when Chas has to start shedding clothes I start feeling nervous.

“Luckily it’s Emmerdale so we only see the odd bit of shoulder. There are no full frontals!”

And finally, of the likely outcome of the Chas and Cameron affair, Lucy said, “Aha, who knows? It’s Emmerdale’s 40th anniversary so there are going to be some amazing storylines.

“Maybe we’ll be part of that. The chemistry between the two characters is so intense it will keep drawing them back together.

“It is certainly not going to be a flash in the pan between them!”
