With wedding bells in the air it was only a matter of time before the parents of the Sharma brothers would turn up in the Dales, and the new faces may seem very similar….

When Jai (Chriss Bisson) and brother Nikhil (Rik Makarem) turned up in Emmerdale back in 2009, apart from a brief visit from their sister, Priya (then played by Effie Woods), not much was said about their parents, but with Jai’s up and coming nuptials to Charity Tate (Emma Atkins) looming, a parental inspection seems only right.

The factory bosses are set to receive a visit from mum, dad and sister in the next few weeks, and we are to brace ourselves for some big opinions and not much love for our favourite Dingle girl.

The casting of all three is set to jog our memories somewhat, with Mum, Georgia, being played by iconic Bill actress, Trudie Goodwin, Dad, Rishi, is being played by Holby Blue actor Bhasker Patel and sister, Priya, being re-cast by Where the Heart Is star Fiona Wade.

With such casting it seems safe to assume that the Sharma clan will be staying for a while at least, and plan to make life difficult for Charity, as well as Rishi’s Business Obsessed controlling nature which is bound to ruffle the few feathers Nikhil has left, that Charity didn’t already pluck!
