Emmerdale bosses are planning to cast a Casanova farmer according to The Sun.

The soap started out as a show centred around farming life, however since the death of Clive Hornby the only farmer left on the show is wife beater, Andy Sugden.

The farmer will be called John Naylor, and has been described as a “forty-something Casanova who will be an instant hit with the local ladies”.

A source commented: “We want to create a new farming dynasty. Families and farming are the cornerstone of Emmerdale and it’s important we don’t forget that.

“We want to take the show back to its farming roots, while keeping it sexy and exciting.”

They added: “We are in the final few days of casting and hope to announce our new man very shortly. The actor who is confirmed in the role will join the cast in late September and begin filming then.”
