Woop with joy Emmerdale fans for there’s a big treat headed your way in October in the form of a live episode which will mark the show’s 40th anniversary!

The above picture appeared on the show’s official website yesterday, with a hint or two about what’s in store for the historic milestone from the show’s series producer, Stuart Blackburn.

He says that among the big storylines for the anniversary are two weddings, one of which will be “the most unexpected we have ever seen”, plus the birth of two babies.

Well we of course know Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) is expecting, so I guess that’s one birth taken care of, but there’s been some speculation that Gennie Dingle (Sian Reese-Williams) is to find out she’s expecting a baby with Nikhil Sharma (Rik Makarem)…

However, that is literally only speculation, it hasn’t been confirmed – or denied for that matter – by show insiders.

As to the wedding that will be “the most unexpected we have ever seen”, who do you reckon that’ll be?

I’m thinking it might be Chas Dingle and Cameron Murray – who are of course played by Lucy Pargeter and the gorgeous Dominic Power – and maybe they’re the expectant parents!

Or perhaps Debbie will marry the father of her kids, Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher).
