Emmerdale star Sammy Winward, who of course plays the role of Katie Sugden, has been spilling the beans on her co-stars backstage personae, revealing that Sophie Powles is the “best cook”, and Natalie J Robb is the show’s “hardest woman.”

Sophie plays troubled teen Holly Barton – who’s soon to be written out of the show – while Natalie of course plays Holly’s mum, Moira.

Speaking via the show’s website, Sammy said, “The best cook would have to be Sophie Powles…

“She comes in with the most amazing treats. There’s vegan treats and all, delicious. Very random but great.”

And of Natalie, Sammy – who’s also appeared on Soapstar Superstar, and whose real middle name is Kate – said, “Natalie Robb is probably the hardest, over the guys as well.

“I’ve always wanted to see a fight between Lucy Pargeter and Natalie. I think that would be great – although I have been known to win every female cast member, bar Natalie, at arm wrestles…”

And it seems that Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas Dingle, has earned the dubious honour of being the best burper on set.

Sammy said, “It’s not her worst habit. I’m so used to it now that I don’t even turn around when she does it, it’s like second nature.”
