EMPIRE’S CHILDREN: Jenny Eclair

Monday 30 July 2007
9:00pm, Channel 4

For comedian Jenny Eclair, exploring her family’s imperial past is a journey in to the heart of darkness. As a child, Jenny stumbled across gruesome photographs her father had kept of dead Chinese communist terrorists in Malaya. Now she wants to find out why he had them and what he was doing in Malaya in the 1950s. Jenny travels to Malaysia, the country where she was born 46 years ago.

    Empire’s child–Jenny Eclair
What a bias program the poor Chinese, what about the way they hacked the rubber planters to death!–you can hardly class Jenny Eclair as a Empire’s child, the empire had gone by the time she was born in Malaya– I was a child there in the 54/58 . Perhaps you are running celebrities ! very disappointing program
