Eurovision Song Contest 2007
In the UK it’s been perhaps one of the most controversial years in Eurovision history with the legendary singing competition making headlines and front page news across the national media for weeks.
It’s certainly kicked up a storm with everyone from Charlotte Church to Lorraine Kelly having their say on the act that will represent the UK this year.
But, after a heavy weight battle with the likes of Justin Hawkins, Brian Harvey and Liz McClarnon among the contenders for the coveted title of UK Eurovision entry, democracy ensued and the British Public spoke out as the millions watching voted fair and square for Scooch.
Their upbeat tune Flying The Flag (For You), true pop reminiscent of the Bucks Fizz days, will now take its place in Eurovision history as the four piece band prepare to perform to an expected 180 million viewers worldwide on the 12 May at the annual 52nd Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, Finland.
It’s been ten long years since the United Kingdom won the Eurovision Song Contest with Katrina And The Waves and this year Scooch are hoping to clinch the prize and bring it back home.
