Ever thought your dog could be a TV star? Now’s your chance to prove it with ITV2’s Top Dog Model!

I make this look more glamorous than it actually is...

Ever since Ashleigh Butler introduced her remarkable dog Pudsey to the nation on Britain’s Got Talent, us Brits have gone barking mad for performing canines, and even the normally emotionless Simon Cowell has fallen for the charms of Ashleigh’s four legged BFF…

However, they say the showbiz industry is dog eat dog, but 12 Yard Productions are almost certainly hoping there’ll be no cannibalism among the contenders of a new show they’re putting together for ITV2 entitled, Top Dog Model.

So, assuming your dog isn’t A) a killer, and B) is precocious enough a pooch to be a model, then he/she could be the next big thing on the canine catwalk.

Here’s what 12 Yard Productions have to say about applying for show…

We’re putting out a dog whistle to the 8 million UK dog owners and their pooches – from Labradoodles to Lurchers, perfectly preened to superbly scruffy, everything in between and beyond…

We want to include dogs of all types – mongrels, rare breeds, cross-breeds, whatever! All shapes and sizes are welcome but it’s not lovely looks alone that will crown our furry favourite because personality and star quality will need to shine through too!

Prized pets will go head-to-head through a series of special modelling challenges and feature weekly eliminations by our panel of judges who will analyse the hounds’ hottest headshots and eliminate the weakest performer, ultimately leading to one lucky dog being crowned the country’s Top Dog Model and possibly becoming the new face of a major brand.

We will be holding our first auditions in EARLY JUNE, so contact us for an application form now! Email topdogmodel@12yard.com

The show will be broadcast in the autumn. If you apply, please do let us know how you get on!
