Those Family Guy writers have b**ls of steel! There is now officially no subject they won’t tackle.

At Comic-Con this week, show writer/producer Seth MacFarlane says that the show will tackle abortion during it’s next season, but added that the episode may go straight to DVD.

“Twentieth Century Fox, as always, allowed us to produce the episode and then said, ‘You know what? We’re scared to f–king death of this.’ ”

A similar occurrence came about in 2000 when the episode “When You Wish Upon a Weinstein,” went straight to DVD. In the instalment Peter Griffin set out to convert Christ to Judaism as part of a get rich quick scheme.

MacFarlane is now officially the highest-paid writer-producer in TV history after signing a $100 million deal with Fox that will keep Family Guy and spinoff, American Dad, on the air until 2012.
