Farewell Fiona Phillips!
Well, today was the end of a breakfast era as legendary GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips appeared on our early morning screens for the last time, causing me to spend about three hours trying not to cry as farewell messages were read and special guests said goodbye to her.
Fiona first appeared on GMTV in 1993 and in that time, we’ve seen Fiona get married to Martin Frizell, have two children and share life’s highs and lows with us viewers.
She’s been a wonderful presenter and has often cheered my morning up with her daft antics on the sofa, most especially with the recent debacle about how dangerous slippers are!
She always looks enviably glamorous, no matter what ungodly hour it is but as well as being fun, she’s a tough cookie when there’s a politician on the sofa and she never lets them away without answering her questions.
Best of luck to you Fiona and thanks for being such a great GMTV presenter! I hope it’s not too long before we see you in on our TVs again!
