Paul Walker, the star of the Fast & Furious movies was killed in an horrendous car crash last month, and was just 40 years old when he died.
And today it’s been revealed that the results of Paul’s autopsy detail a shocking catalogue of dreadful injuries and burns which led to his death in the high-speed car crash in California.
Among the injuries listed on the Coroner’s report were several broken bones, burns so extensive that his skin was “burned off” and most upsettingly of all, it was reported that Paul had “soot” in his lungs, which indicates that he was breathing when his Porsche Carrera GT – which was estimated to have been travelling at around 100mph at the time of impact – burst into flames.
The Daily Mail reports that “Paul died from impact of crash and heat from explosion” and adds that his body was burned so badly none of his organs could be donated.
As mentioned above, he had multiple fractures including to his jaw, collarbone and left upper arm, however, no alcohol or drugs were found to be in his system.
The official cause of death is cited as being from “The combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries.”
Paul’s friend Roger Rodas, who was driving the car and also died in the crash, apparently suffered major head trauma.
The paper states, “A gruesome detail was added: The ‘top portion of his skull fractured and his brain exposed.’”
At the time of the accident, Paul was thought to be returning home after attending a fundraiser for his charity Reach Out Worldwide to benefit victims of Typhoon Haiyan. He was photographed fuelling the car just minutes before the crash.
On the day of the crash, Paul’s official Facebook page carried a statement which read, “It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide.
“He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives.”
How incredibly sad and what a dreadful way to die.
