We earlier revealed that Fern Britton has quit This Morning but rumours have now emerged that she made that decision based on some awkwardness around Phillip Schofield.

Fern has presented This Morning for ten years, Phillip for seven. The two have helped the show grow from strength to strength, however outside the première daytime TV show Phillip’s career has grown massively whilst Fern’s seems to have slightly stagnated.

A source told Heat:

“I know it has been a big source of irritation to her that Phil has become the big prime time star and she hasn’t, and he is on a lot more money than her”

“Because she felt the whole world had gone against her over the gastric band thing, whether she has conflated him in that as well. Although I thought he was very supportive of her. You can never tell her mind though.”
