This Morning presenter, Fern Britton, took some time off from the show last week after it emerged that she had previously had a gastric band operation without informing her fans.
ITV expected Britton to return to work yesterday morning, but still no sign.
‘She is at rock bottom and still fuming with ITV chiefs for not backing her over the operation,’ reveals a source to The Sun.
Another source told The Mirror: ‘She’s devastated by the backlash, especially from her fans. She is really down.’
ITV added: ‘Fern is having some time off and we are hoping to see her back at work very soon.’
