Fiona and husband Martin Frizell live above The Greyhound Inn in Sydling St Nicholas in Dorset, with their two sons, Nathaniel and Mackenzie.
It’s thought the burglars, who broke in via a kitchen window, stole alcohol, electronic devices and sundry items totaling £1,000.
Inspector Les Fry of Dorset police told the Daily Mail, “The thieves got away with a lot of different items. It looks like they got in during the early hours of the night.”
Fiona and Martin bought the pub in March this year for £900,000.
Explaining why she decided to buy the pub, Fiona said, “My granddad was a publican and my brother is also one so I think it runs in the family.
“We just love going into pubs. It’s a place that does really good food and there are rooms with it.
“It needs a lot of investment but it was Dorset’s Dining Pub of the Year last year so it’s a good business we have taken over.
“It’s just something that we are in control of rather being in the television world where you are very much at the beck and call of people who either want you or don’t.”
And Martin added, “If you can tell me of a prettier village in Dorset, I’d like to know.
“It’s beautiful. We’ve always been frustrated with not finding a pub that we like and when this one came on the market we thought it would be a shame if it fell into large pub company hands so we wanted to buy it and preserve it.
“It had an absolutely charismatic feel as soon as we walked through the door which is the most important thing in a pub.”
