Fiona Phillips Quit GMTV Amid Dementia Fears
Fiona Phillips has revealed that her decision to quit the GMTV sofa was partly due to a fear of developing dementia at an early age.
Phillips told the Sunday Times: “He keeps forgetting words and it’s so sad because he was such an active, intelligent man with an opinion on everything.
“I’m 47 and my mum was in her late fifties when she developed Alzheimer’s, so I am very aware that I may have only ten years left of life as I know it.
“I must admit that it has contributed to my feeling of time flashing by. Why slog away getting up at 4am when you might not be able to look after your family in the way you want to later on?” she said.

Hi Fiona.Help for your dad fiona. I have written proof from brain scans from someone who’s memory came back.
I have details from someone who was told that he had CEREBELLAR ATROPHY which showed up from a brain scan. He then had another scan a few years later which showed that it had progressed. He then found out from a private test that he had HEAVY METAL IN HIS BRAIN and so detoxed it with a heavy metal detox. His last scan in 2007 showed that his brain was now BACK TO NORMAL for a man of his age.
I also suffered with short term memory loss. Unable to put a sentance together as forgot what word i had just said. fuzzy unclear head and confusion all the time.forgot where i had left my car. forgot where my friend lived down the road who i had been visiting for the last 20 years. cryed my eyes out when i realised that i could not find her house anymore as it was really frightening. forgot what i went in a room for.forgot to go on apppointment as even leaving myself a reminder note my brain would not take in what it said when i read it.I remembered things from years ago that i hadn’t remembered before.
I took a heavy metal detox and my memory came back within 5 months. I detoxed for 3 years altogether. The first thing was that all of a sudden i realised that i had gone into a room for something and had actualy bought it out with me. I cryed with joy!
I have been running a helpline ever since for about ten years now. It doesn’t hurt anyone to go for a test like i did and find out why this is happening to your brain.Mine had been from the mercury leaking in my tooth fillings and so was this other person and many more people who have had relations contact me but as I am now so sensative to heavy metal then my body can pick it up easy from the environment and so i take a heavy metal detox for about 2 months of the year to keep it out of my brain and the rest of my body.Without a heavy metal detox your body does not get rid of it automaticly. It stays in your tissues of wherever it lands in your body. Please take this seriously as i said it doesn’t hurt for anyone to go for the test that I went for and I have details of where you can go for tests if you would like them fiona and anyone else who is going through this AWFUL ordeal with their family! Take care Fiona. Pam.
frightening decision to have to make, dont blame her, she is right, quality time with family is more important than work
My Mum is 85 yrs old. My dad dies Sept 2002. Since then I thoughtmy Mum suffered from deep depression and steadily demenetia developed. Sadly Nov 2009 she left her bungalow where she had lived alone and went into hospital for 2 months for an assessment from where she went into an EMI nursing care home. She was only there just 3 months when they sent her to a physhiatric hospital for yet another ‘assessment’ These are terrible places and the family goes throgh hell with feelings of neglect. This is such a dreadful disease and although I am only 54yrs old i sometimes feel the onsought of this. I have ran my own business for 19 years and want to close down and look after Mum but worry that I too will develop this and be unable to look after her, it is such a dilema as i also have a family. there is not enough support or help out there, i sometimes think i will have a heart attack just thinking of it all…..
