The ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie is coming and now it seems we know a bit more about it. The movie adaption of the hugely popular E L James novel will be out Valentine’s Day 2015.
After the main role of Christian Grey was changed from Charlie Hunnam to Jamie Dornan it seems things are final now and filming is well underway though the movie might not be quite as raunchy.
So what we know so far is that Jamie Dornan is playing Christian Grey, Dakota Johnson is taking on the role of Anastasia Steele
Meanwhile Rita Ora will play her sister Mia and Eloise Mumford, Jennifer Ehle and Max Martini will also feature.
The first poster for the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie (seen above) was recently released and is fairly basic showing Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey looking out a window.
The caption on the poster simply says “Mr. Grey will see you now”
As expected if the movie was anything like the book (from what I’ve heard) then it would never make it into the cinemas, not in the UK at least.
Revealing to Deadline at the Sundance Film Festival that the movie won’t be as sexually explicit as the book, Michael De Luca said: “We’re very conscious of not making anything gratuitous or exploitive while being faithful to the stories of the book and the fans of the book,”
“We’re going to give them what they expect, which is an intense and erotic love story. Obviously the film can’t be as explicit as the book.
“A picture is worth 1,000 words. So to be erotic on screen means I think an image is going to have way more power than reading the words on a page.”
He continued: “The book is explicit by design because the author wanted to get inside of the female character and wanted to in detail go through her experience.
“On a literary level that was necessary but on film it is a whole different medium. In any adaption of a book, you have to lose some stuff and you have to combine some stuff.
“In the dramatic arch of a two-hour or 90-minute movie, it’s a three-act structure.”
So now we know, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ will be released in cinemas on Valentine’s Day 2015.
