ABC’s new TV show Cougar Town, stars Courtney Cox as 40 something divorcee trying to find her way back onto the dating scene and opting for the younger guys.

In a press release announcing its autumn lineup, ABC says the comedy will show the former “Friends” star’s character exploring “the honest truths about dating and aging in our beauty and youth obsessed culture.”

Courtney needs a good TV vehicle after Dirty crashed and burned so spectacularly, however I suspect that Cougar Town won’t be it. I think it’s the use of the word Cougar that gets to me. It portrays Cox as a desperate has been and watching her pulling at her so called flabby bits in a preview clip of the show made me wonder what the show producers saw that I didn’t. Cox looks better now than she did in her appearance in Bruce Springsteens music video in the 80’s.
