EastEnders: First look at Pat Evans on her Christmas death bed!

by Lynn Connolly

As fans of EastEnders will know, poor old Pat Evans (Pam St Clement) is about to shuffle off the mortal coil, and today, the Daily Mirror have a sneak peek at her final moments.

Pam has of course starred in EastEnders since 1986, and has become famed for her character’s gaudy and largely hideous earrings, but alas, she’ll wear her last pair of dangly Christmas baubles as she breathes her last, surrounded by her family.

And of course, one of those family members is the gorgeous David Wicks, who’s played by Michael French…

He’s set to arrive in Walford shortly to spend his last Christmas with his mum. However, David’s arrival is somewhat marred by a row that ensues with Branning brother Derek (Jamie Foreman). We’ll see their row in the Christmas week episodes.

The BBC are of course expecting millions of us to turn in to the show over Christmas, when as well as Pat’s demise, we’re to see the effects on Walford’s residents of the inferno that’s to rip through the B&B, and the identity of Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) stalker will finally be revealed.

A show insider said, “The whole Christmas schedule is packed full of high-octane drama in Albert Square.

“Pam St Clement’s decision to leave has been common knowledge, but nobody will be prepared for the drama about to unfold.

“There are dozens of twists and surprises, and fans will be glued to their seats.”

Plus in the New Year, we’re to see Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison) depart the Square – by means that are as yet only rumour – and Janine Malloy (Charlie Brooks) will be coming to terms with being an expectant mum.

And of course, the fall out for the Masood family from evil Yusef’s (Ace Bhatti) actions will go on long into 2012 as poor Tamwar (Himesh Patel) has to cope with the horrific burns he suffered in the Boxing Day fire.
