The Sun are reporting today that the residents of Coronation Street are not going to have many silent nights this Christmas; there’s due to be no less than four fights and an attempted murder.

Newly widowed Maria Connor decks Tony Gordon, when she becomes convinced that he killed her husband Liam.

Nasty factory boss Tony – who’s due to murder OAP Jed Stone and shove him in a Christmas hamper basket – gives Maria a sinister warning, “I wouldn’t ever, ever do that again.

“There’s still plenty of space next to your husband and baby in that graveyard for you to join them.”

Meanwhile, troubled teens Tina McIntyre and Rosie Webster come to blows when Gail invites the Websters for dinner. The two girls are soon at each others’ throats; after seeing Tina flirt with young newcomer Gary Windass, a jealous Rosie calls her a “tart” and chaos ensues.

Tina tells her, “I’m not the one who dated a kidnapper twice my age” and much hair pulling and rolling around commences. Then a scrap breaks out between Gary and David Platt after hunky Gary tells David, “Your bird’s gagging for me mate. I’m going to have her and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

And to top it all off, Joe McIntyre, Tina’s dad, settles an old score with Eddie Windass by covering him with Christmas dinner leftovers. A source told The Sun that, “Gail is absolutely mortified.”

Sounds like a typical family Christmas Day doesn’t it!
